Hi Reader

Wishing you a Happy Year of the Dragon (in case it's too late to say Happy New Year for January 1st ;)).

My 2024 teaching calendar is now available (at the end of the email) and the first class is coming up in March:

Class: Exploration of Movement Patterns

Dates: Sunday 17th & 24th March 2024 9am-5pm each day

Venue: Mana Health Practice, 130 Plenty Rd Preston (Melbourne)

Pre-requisite: None - open to all

$400 Early Bird discount if paid by Sunday 3rd March

After March 3rd:

$420 for OBA members OR

$450 for non-members

Prefer a bank transfer or payment plan? Email or call me for details - 0422266190

In this class we explore the use of specific movement techniques for both assessment and treatment of acute and chronic tension patterns. You'll learn how to assess where movement is or is not available to the client, identify key areas of restriction and use gentle movement techniques to increase range of motion and flexibility in muscles and joints. Identify your client's preferred patterns of tension and postural habits and help them access more functional movements with less pain.

Exploration of Movement Patterns is also the ideal follow-up class to Fundamentals/Phase 4 as it expands your toolkit with movement techniques to use when standard Phase 4 positions are uncomfortable or inaccessible for your clients.

Includes:

Detailed manual (hard copy & optional pdf)

Certificate for 16 hours/units of study & CPE points with OBA (and other professional organisations)

Refreshments provided

Contact me on 0422266190 if you have any questions. And if you'd like me to offer an in-person or online study group or a particular class, reply to this email and tell me about it.

See you in class!

Janine

Description and images of Represented course with Annie Gichuru

I participated in Annie Gichuru’s program, REPRESENTED a little while ago. This is a 10 week course designed for online business owners, practitioners and coaches who want to build a racially equitable business so they can be intentionally inclusive. Annie has opened up doors for the next round and I wanted to share my experience with you as an affiliate. I don't usually promote online courses but I deeply value this program and believe that all practitioners and business owners can benefit...

Do you have trouble with low back pain when gardening or doing other activities that require bending forward? Or have you stopped gardening or other fun things because it hurts? The key to bending without hurting your back is to focus on bending at the HIPS instead of the knees The reason is that while the vertebrae in our mid to upper backs and necks are shaped to allow us to twist and bend forward and backward, the vertebrae in our low backs are shaped in a way that actually limits these...
